My name is Bekah and I ,first and foremost, want to Thank You for spreading so much light and love into the world- Something I also hope to do with my time here in this crazy journey of life. You have been a personal and family favorite throughout the years, always making us dance and laugh- a gift you give to so many. I have always dreamed of being “important enough” or “famous enough” to come on your show, meet you and dance with you, but never knew how, when, where, or why that dream would become a reality. We have all had such a trying year (to put it lightly), that it is clearer now more than ever that time is not promised. Opportunities aren’t out there looking for you- you have to go out there and seek them. So here I am, seeking out my dream of dancing with you, Ellen DeGenerous. So, one might ask— ‘Why the heck should I have this Bekah girl on my show?’ And I would reply “Well, Ellen… I never thought you’d ask!”. I was born with a condition called VATER syndrome which most visually presents with severe scoliosis. But I am also a Speech Therapist, Yoga Teacher, Aerialist, Rising TikTok star and so so much more! I’ve been a fighter since the day I was born and have had several battles thrown at me since, but thanks to my incredible family and friends— I was always taught to keep dancing. “Don’t Stop Dancing” was a childhood mantra that has gracefully carried over into my 30’s. After losing my job to chronic illness, chronic pain and a global pandemic, I turned to TikTok as a way to literally get me out of bed in the morning. Months later and I have found myself embracing my differences and leading a body positive/disability positive movement that I could have never imagined. Through TikTok, I have met mothers of children that have similar disabilities that now want to try yoga for the very first time. Through TikTok, I have met other women that look like me— Something that I didn’t know was so special until I realized I had lived 31 years without ever seeing someone that looks like me. All of this has ignited a flame that I think has always existed within me to step into my greatest purpose of telling my story, speaking my truth and empowering others to do the same. We all have a story. We all have battles to overcome. We don’t have to think we are the only ones. We’re all way more similar than we are different. All bodies are beautiful. All bodies are yoga bodies. All bodies deserve to dance!
So… That’s me! That’s my soap box. If any of this interests you, I have attached a link to a recent YouTube documentary done on me called “Shake My Beauty” highlighting some pieces of my story. I have absolutely no idea if anyone will see this or if anything will come of this, but I am done sitting back and waiting for my dreams to happen. I miss 100% of the chances I don’t take.
I have so much love for you, Ellen, and it would be the most incredible honor and adventure to come to LA, dance with you, and share my story! Much Love and Light, Bekah Cloud Shake My Beauty: https://youtu.be/0HfLJUVvJT0
